2008 ARELLO President Syd Machat is an industry member of the Maryland Real Estate Commission within the Department of Labor Licensing & Regulation. He has served as an industry volunteer with the Department since 1995, and is a former Commission chair.

Machat is a REALTORS Land Institute Accredited Land Consultant (ALC), a CCIM and CRB designee, with an MBA in real estate and management. He is past president of the Pen Mar Regional Association of REALTORS and former district vice president of the Maryland Association of REALTORS.

Machat lives with his family on a small farm situated in the Town of Keedysville, Maryland USA.
