The ARELLO Education Content Certification Program (AECCP) reviews the content and fundamental delivery documentation of real estate education courses taught in class or via distance education. For courses that meet ACCP standards, certification is granted and deemed by ARELLO to be appropriate for professional real estate education.
The goals of the program are to:
- Help ensure integrity of content taught for professional real estate education.
- Provide a means by which regulatory agencies could participate on a voluntary basis to reduce the workload on an agency’s education staff in reviewing course content subsequent to approval.
- Promote uniformity in content among jurisdictions by certifying course content that is generally accepted in professional real estate practice.
- To ensure course titles accurately reflect the contents of the course.
To certify follow these steps:
- Download the two documents below (Program policies and application for certification). Read the Program Policies document and then complete the Application for Certification and compile the other documentation requested in the application.
- Login to the course management system to submit the application and other documentation. If you do not already have an account in the ARELLO Course Management System, email us at Info@arello.net along with your company name and contact information and we'll set an account up for you and reply with your access information as soon as possible.

Jurisdiction Comments DateBritish Columbia Endorses the program. 7-25-2007 Delaware Recognizes ECCP Certification and will automatically approve continuing education courses that maintain certification. 7-12-2007 Hawaii Endorses the program. 8-9-2007 Idaho Endorses the program. 11-30-2007 Indiana Recognizes ECCP Certification and will automatically approve continuing education courses that maintain certification. 11-28-2007 New Hampshire Endorses the program. 7-7-2007 North Dakota Recognizes the certification and will automatically approve courses that have certification. 8-24-2007 Oklahoma Recognizes ECCP Certification and will automatically approve continuing education courses that maintain certification. (note: distance education courses must have a final exam for approval in OK.) 6-13-2007 Saskatchewan Endorses the program. 7-2007 South Dakota Endorses the program. 7-13-2007 Virginia Recognizes the program. "At its November 8, 2007, meeting, the Real Estate Board (the Board) voted to'recognize' The Association of Real Estate License Law Officials’ (ARELLO) Education
Content Certification for non-state specific real estate pre-license, continuing
and post license education courses. “Recognize” means that courses submitted
with ARELLO certification can be approved automatically by Board staff as
long as each course meets the Board’s approval criteria as required by Virginia
law and the Board’s regulations."11-8-2007 Endorsements do not equate to a requirement or recognition. Endorsements are an official declaration that the Education Content Certification Program has merit. It does not mean jurisdictions will automatically approve courses having certification. Jurisdictions that "recognize" the certification typically provide automatic approval of the course submitted.
For regulatory agencies that need assistance with voluminous course reviews, ARELLO has several services available that could be of valuable assistance.
The first service is an Internet based information technology system that handles course reviews. By utilizing the power of our web based technology system, the course review process could become almost completely paperless. Imagine not having to process and store thousands of pages of course content and being able to reclaim much of the storage space currently dedicated to thousand of pages of course content. ARELLO-IDECC uses this technology system in its distance education certification program which has resulted in reviews being done more efficiently and making record retention a snap. The course management system is also being implemented by several other clients that see the value in adopting technology to solve problems associated with processing and collaborating about hardcopy documents.
The second service involves use of highly qualified consultants that are experts in professional real estate practice and have decades of experience in real estate regulation. These experienced consultants are available to help jurisdictions with the task of ensuring quality education content review. Our consultants cannot only review courses in light of generally accepted real estate principles, but in light of state specific regulations and laws as well. ARELLO’s consultants can easily work with jurisdictions to do course reviews and ensure standards set by the jurisdiction are consistently implemented though the course review process.
ARELLO can be flexible in the way it assists jurisdictions with course content reviews. Keep in mind solutions can be developed that cost your agency nothing. We understand regulatory agencies are constantly being asked to do more for less, therefore our solutions are designed to minimize or eliminate expense to the agency. ARELLO suggests the following process for determining how ARELLO can help your jurisdiction:
Contact ARELLO and setup an appointment with one of our staff to do an analysis of your jurisdiction’s challenges regarding course content approval.
Based upon the analysis, ARELLO will develop a plan including associated funding contingencies for the proposed plan.
ARELLO will work closely with the jurisdiction to implement solutions that may be necessary.
ARELLO will partner with the jurisdiction to maintain and adjust solutions whenever necessary to maintain relevancy and effectiveness.
Contact one of our staff members to find out how ARELLO can help your jurisdiction with the education content review and approval process. Access ARELLO contact Information.
