A Message from the President
Dear ARELLO members,
My hope is that you and your loved ones are well and safe.
I would like to assure you that I take seriously the call to lead you during these tumultuous times of scare, uncertainties, restrictions and changes to our daily professional and personal lives imposed on us by the COVID-19 pandemic.
I consider it my responsibility to keep you informed about the actions ARELLO Leadership is taking to assure the Association is moving forward with minimal interruption. We all- the leadership, the staff and the contractors, are working tirelessly to make sure all changes and restrictions have as minimal affect on our programs and services as possible. The uncharted territory, we are in now, will enrich us with new experiences and will force us to apply approaches and find solutions never used before. In my actions and decisions I am guided by the wisdom and truth in Einstein's statement that "Only those who attempt the absurd can achieve the impossible". I am proud of and thankful for the creativity and the determination of our staff to seek innovative solutions and help the association follow its mission and meet its objectives.
Despite the decision to cancel the Mid-Year meeting in Savannah, GA we are taking all necessary steps to offer virtually as many of the regular meetings as possible. The draft schedule is ready, and all committees will have a designated time to conduct their meeting via zoom. The schedule has been designed in a way to allow every one of us to attend any or all meetings if interested. Log-in information will be provided for each meeting.
The Executive Committee finalized the work on the new three-year Strategic Plan and voted to submit it to the Board of Directors for adoption at the upcoming meeting.
The Finance Committee is at the final stages on developing the budget for the 2020-2021 fiscal year, which will also be submitted to the Board of Directors for approval.
All Committees and Task forces follow their charges and work diligently to fulfill their responsibilities and deliver the expected outcomes.
I feel confident that we will get through this difficult time because we are working together to overcome the unexpected limitations and difficulties.
I would like to thank all of you for your understanding, cooperation and support.
Look forward to seeing you at our virtual Mid-Year meeting.
Be safe and well.
